Quadro owners using older Windows operating systems may want to reconsider upgrading to Windows 10 soon. Just as Microsoft is ending its security updates for Windows 7 this month so is NVIDIA. As of January 14th, 2020, NVIDIA will no longer offer new Quadro drivers for the following operating systems.

  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8
  • WIndow 8.1
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 R2

NVIDIA, like Microsoft, will continue to offer extended support for enterprise solutions. NVIDIA has instructed users to contact their NVIDIA representative if needing continued support for these older operating systems.

Discussion

Peter Brosdahl
As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
