ASUS added a new variant to its flagship motherboard line. They have improved upon the previous design to further optimize overclocking the new AMD 3990X Threadripper processor. A motherboard for those with deep pockets but should also cover all the bases. The current non-alpha version runs for around $870 on Amazon so WCCFTECH is estimating this variant will likely be about $1000.

Acknowledging the power needs of the 64 core / 128 thread monster they improved upon the VRM design. Upgrading from 16 Infineon TDA21472 to Infineon TDA21490 power stages the VRM design has gone from a 70 amp to a 90 amp rating.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
