As we get closer to arrival of Microsoft’s and Sony’s next generation of console releases we are seeing more game trailers released. We should see both consoles arrive around the end of 2020. The latest trailer comes from Square Enix for Outriders via their twitter page. Initially announced at E3 2019 it will be available for both current and next gen along with PC. There will be a twitch stream event on February 13th, 2020, at 12 PM PT.

Outriders will be the first game that Square Enix has released since leaving Epic Games. Square Enix has been working on the game with developer People Can Fly for over four years now. Established in 20002 People Can Fly have an impressive history with such AAA games. Such titles as Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgement, and Painkiller, exemplify their efforts in the action/shooter genre. Described as a co-op shooter RPG Outriders will continue in a similar path.

This is not the only game with plans for the holiday 2020 release blitz. A couple of months back Ninja Theory announced Hellblade Sequel “Senua’s Saga“. Both trailers for Outriders and Senua’s Saga have reported to use in-game engine footage along with cut-scenes. Another game, Godfall, for PS5 and PC, and Epic Game Store Exclusive is in the works. A rumor, but very plausible considering the previous release and Sony’s recent investment, is the next Spider-Man game. As rumors continue to surface about specs for these consoles one thing remains clear and it’s that holiday 2020 will be eventful for both game and hardware releases.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
