Open-beta for Resident Evil Resistance began on Friday March 27th, 2020. Resistance, aka Project Resistance, is Capcom’s new multiplayer addition to their Resident Evil franchise. Described as mastermind versus survivors it is a 4 vs 1 PvP co-op style game. A player can join others to survive the obstacles of the mastermind. Their ultimate goal is to escape in time. Unfortunately launches, or even open betas, do not always go as planned. On Friday Capcom announced, via Resistance’s home page, that the PS4 and Steam versions would not yet be available.

From Capcom

“Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, there is a slight delay for the Resident Evil Resistance Open Beta on PS4 and Steam. The Xbox One version is unaffected and will be available as scheduled. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will keep you updated on its availability. We sincerely apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.”

As stated X-Box one owners are able to access this open beta. It will be available to them until the release date of Resident Evil 3 on April 3rd. PC owners should not feel completely left out. They can at least play the Raccoon City demo for the time being. Released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, it does allow players a brief taste of what is in store for Jill Valentine. Resident Evil 3 will include this new co-op along with the single player campaign.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
