Application Benchmarks
We are going to start with application and system benchmarks for comparisons, these are the kind of benchmarks that provide an overall performance score to compare with. These are also benchmarks that may either test the system as a whole, including many different real-world workloads, or stress the CPU in ways real-world everyday workloads are performed to produce a performance result.
PCMark 10
We will start with the latest version of PCMark 10 Professional Edition version 2.1.2177 64. We are running the standard PCMark 10 benchmark, not the express, and not the extended. The extended version includes GPU tests and we don’t want the GPU to be part of our CPU testing performance result.
The new AMD Ryzen 3 3100 pulls in a result of 6363 overall PCMark 10 score. This result is 8% faster than the Intel Core i3-9100F CPU.
Geekbench 5
The next test we are running is the CPU testing in Geekbench 5 (5.1.1) version. The result produces an overall score in Multi-Threading and Single-Threading.
In the Multi-Core Score the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 has a result of 4998 which is a whopping 33% faster than the Intel Core i3-9100F. This is a very big Multi-Threaded result over the competing product.
In the graph above is the Single-Core Core results from Geekbench 5. On single-core the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 has a score of 1137 which is about 1% faster than the Intel Core i3-9100F. Here’s what you need to keep in mind though, single-core is all about IPC and clock speed. The Intel Core i3-9100F is running at a higher clock speed than the AMD Ryzen 3 3100, yet the AMD Ryzen 3 (with a lower clock speed) is beating the i3-9100F slightly. That shows much improved IPC on single-thread despite the clock speed difference and how superior even just one core is compared to the competition. This really puts the Ryzen 3 3100 in a good light.
Aida64
Our next test is Aida64 version 6.25.5400. We are running the CPU Queen test. To understand the workloads this test runs, please read this article.
The AMD Ryzen 3 3100 just destroys the Intel Core i3-9100F in this test. It is 44% faster, which is incredible.
