ATTO Disk Benchmark
In the screenshot above you can see all of the ATTO data for the Samsung 970 EVO 1TB SSD. You will find that from 32KB and onward the results are extremely consistent, more-so than they were with the XPG SX8100NP drive.

In this graph we have the highest result from read and write performance in ATTO compared. The Samsung 970 EVO 1TB hit a top read speed of 3.32GB/s while the XPG SX8100NP hit 3.24GB/s. On write speed the Samsung 970 EVO 1TB hit 2.34GB/s and the XPG SX8100NP hit 2.14GB/s. The Samsung 970 EVO continues to take a lead.
Aida64 Disk Benchmark

For our next test we are running Aida64’s Read Test Suite. In this first graph we are looking at linear read performance. Technically the XPG SX8100NP is slightly faster in these tests, but overall, the results are very close together. If you just look at it from a GB/s they all achieve 3.1GB/s of transfer speed and it is consistent from beginning, to middle to end on both drives.

We also see the same trend for the random and buffered read. The XPG SX8100NP is just ever so slightly faster, but the results are so close together it could be a margin of error.

One area that had a bigger difference, and was consistent in two different benchmarks is the average access time. The Samsung 970 EVO 1TB has a faster access time. You’ll also see this in the next benchmark.
