It has been nearly 16 years since Fable was released, and roughly 10 years since the third installment. That’s not counting the collectible card game released a few years back. After denying the existence of a new game, it seems Microsoft could be telling a new Fable soon. We already know that it is planning a big event, on July 23rd, with its first-party Xbox Games Showcase. Now, it seems, another reveal could be happening. Klobrille, a well-known insider, had the following to say on ResetEra.

Just to get that expectation right, I don’t think anyone should expect a Fable announcement with a gameplay demo like what Halo Infinite will do.

I guess this will rather be in the Horizon II-trailer-like ballpark, so an in-engine trailer but somewhat indicative of what to expect.

Publishers denying the existence of new games in development, after multiple leaks, seems to be the new norm this year. We saw a similar tactic with Crytek involving the Crysis remaster. Let us hope that this rumored new Fable fares better, with its potential in-engine gameplay demo, should it happen. Last June, Wccftech had reported that a short gameplay trailer surfaced online but was then quickly taken down. At that time, it was believed that Microsoft would make its official announcement at E3. With the purported specs for the upcoming Xbox Series X console, there’s plenty of hardware potential to show off a new RPG title such as Fable. This, in turn, lends credence to the possibility it will be announced at the forthcoming event.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
