In a blog post regarding the rising demand of PC-based computing, AMD Executive Vice President of Computing & Graphics Rick Bergman confirmed that red team’s highly anticipated Zen 3-based Ryzen processors would be launching later this year. This may seem like the hundredth time that AMD has mentioned a 2020 release for “Vermeer,” but certainty is always a good thing, right?

“Well, I cannot share too much, but I can say our high-performance journey continues with our first ‘Zen 3’ Client processor on-track to launch later this year,” wrote Rick Bergman. “I will wrap by saying you haven’t seen the best of us yet…”

In the meantime, AMD is focusing on its latest product launch, the Ryzen 4000 G-Series desktop processors. The company claims that the 8C/16T 4700G model features up to 5 percent greater single-thread performance than the competition, and 31 percent greater multi-threaded performance than the competition.
