Guru of 3D has shared a screenshot from an alleged insider who claims to have pricing information on two of Colorful’s high-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SKUs. The Vulcan (air-cooled) model will supposedly cost 14,999 CNY, while the Neptune (hybrid liquid-cooled) model will supposedly cost 15,999 CNY. That translates to around $2,100 and $2,300, respectively.

“ChipHell user Alienxzy posted a screenshot taken from an insider account (alleged) with information regarding plans for next-gen RTX 3090,” Guru of 3D wrote. “The partner in dispute here would be Colorful, and there is validity there as the guy posted a screenshot. Colorful would be releasing two high-end versions of the RTX 3090 graphics card, a Vulcan (air-cooled) and then a Neptune (hybrid liquid-cooled). Prices would sit at CNY 14,999 and 15,999 respectively (yes in that order), that’s about $2000 for the Vulcan X OC and weirdly enough the Liquid cooled version would be a notch cheaper.”

Obviously, this report stems from the innermost regions of rumor territory, so you should definitely take these insane figures with a bag of salt. Also, these are Chinese prices, which are traditionally much higher than US prices. NVIDIA did launch the GeForce 2080 Ti at $999 ($1,199 for the Founders Edition), however, which was also considered “insane” at the time. We’ve also seen some pretty crazily priced RTX 2080 Ti SKUs out there, such as Colorful’s “KUDAN” – a Steampunk-inspired card that cost an incredible $3,000.
