An unlisted teaser on Call of Duty’s official YouTube channel has confirmed that the next Black Ops game will be titled Cold War. The video features narration by infamous KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov, which suggests that players could be squaring off against Soviets/Russians again with the series’s original protagonist, Alex Mason. (According to previous rumors, Cold War may be a reboot of the franchise.)

“At the height of the cold war, KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov issues a chilling warning,” the trailer reads. “He claims a soviet spy, codename: ‘Perseus,’ has infiltrated western intelligence. His goal: subvert the U.S. to ensure soviet dominance in the arms race. To this day, the identity and whereabouts of Perseus remain unknown.”

This seems to echo Mason’s fate, who was brainwashed to serve Soviet purposes in the original Black Ops. The ending of the game even implied that he had something to do with the assassination of a certain U.S. President.

As noted at the end of the trailer, Activision is hosting a worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on August 26, so we should be getting the full details next week.
