Rockstar Games has announced that it will be releasing Red Dead Online—the online component of its critically acclaimed cowboy adventure, Red Dead Redemption 2—as a standalone game on December 1st. For a limited time, prospective players can grab it for the low introductory price of just $4.99.

Red Dead Online will be available from the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store and Steam at an introductory offer of $4.99 – which is 75% off the regular price – until February 15, 2021,” Rockstar wrote.

“Please note that PlayStation Plus and/or Xbox Live Gold are required to play. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Red Dead Online will be playable via backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series hardware.”

Red Dead Online allows groups of up to seven players (four, in the case of temporary posses) to team up and tackle various missions that take place before the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, among other things. An expansion that enhances the Bounty Hunter role will be released next week.
