Death Stranding just got a free update with content inspired by Cyberpunk 2077. No, we’re not talking about random items spawning in mid-air or NPCs unexpectedly walking through solid objects, but a number of items inspired by CD PROJEKT RED’s latest blockbuster.

New Equipment and Items

  • A new reverse trike vehicle with improved jumping power modeled after those in Cyberpunk 2077
  • A new “Silver Hand” inspired by Johnny Silverhand’s robotic arm that is usable in-game
  • New constructs featuring holograms including a SAMURAI symbol signboard and an Atlas Trauma Team vehicle hologram
  • Aesthetic items such as Johnny Silverhand’s sunglasses and other fashion-related objects

There are also six new missions inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 along with some cameos, as well as a new hacking function allowing Sam Bridges to target enemy machines. “Porters will have the ability to stop Mule sensor poles from activating for a limited time, stun enemy Odradeks and hack Mule trucks to stop them in their tracks.”

Death Stranding is also on sale for 50 percent off on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
