1440p AMD Rage Mode Performance

On this page we will start by looking at 1440p performance on the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT reference sampled video card from AMD. We will use in-game benchmarks where possible, when not we use a manual run-through. Ray Tracing will be on a separate page.

Cyberpunk 2077

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Cyberpunk 2077 1440p Graph

In Cyberpunk 2077 performance was taken when patch 1.04 was out, this was before the release of patch 1.05. We don’t think that would have made a difference though in the difference we are seeing here. There literally is no difference between RAGE MODE and default performance. All performance is identical and within the margin of error. Performance is 66FPS average at default and with RAGE MODE enabled.

Watch Dogs Legion

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Watch Dogs Legion 1440p Graph

In Watch Dogs Legion at 1440p and “Ultra” preset we see a 1FPS difference, and it is not toward RAGE MODE. With the difference so small in the average FPS we can chalk this up to error of margin differences.

Horizon Zero Dawn

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Horizon Zero Dawn 1440p Graph

In Horizon Zero Dawn at 1440p we experience the exact same performance between RAGE MODE and default performance.

Red Dead Redemption 2

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Red Dead Redemption 2 1440p Graph

In Read Dead Redemption at 1440p with “Ultra” settings there is a 1FPS difference, this time with RAGE MODE showing the positive result. However, it’s such a small difference that it could be within the margin of error, it is certainly not noticeable in gameplay.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Ghost Recon Breakpoint 1440p Graph

In Ghost Recon Breakpoint at 1440p performance is identical between RAGE MODE and default performance.

Control

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Control 1440p Graph

In Control we experience the most significant different yet. Unlike the other games above, there is a detectable and “benchmarkable” difference with RAGE MODE. RAGE MODE is in fact 2% faster than default performance. This is not noticeable while gaming, but it is detectable in a benchmark as we see here.

Wolfenstein Youngblood

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Wolfenstein Youngblood 1440p Graph

Wolfenstein Youngblood, like Control, shows us some difference in performance. However, for this game it is for the negative. RAGE MODE actually hurts performance by almost 2%. At framerates this high, you cannot notice this while gaming.

The Division 2

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance The Division 2 1440p Graph

In The Division 2 performance is identical between RAGE MODE and default performance.

Metro Exodus

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Metro Exodus 1440p Graph

In Metro Exodus performance falls within the margin of error, though .8FPS faster, technically, with RAGE MODE.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Rage Mode Performance Shadow of the Tomb Raider 1440p Graph

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider RAGE MODE is 1FPS faster than without. This could be the margin of error.
