Ray Tracing AMD Rage Mode Performance
Now we are going to turn on Ray Tracing at 1440p and 4K and see if RAGE MODE makes any difference when Ray Tracing is used.
Watch Dogs Legion – 1440p
In Watch Dogs Legion at 1440p with “Ultra” Ray Tracing enabled we experienced the same performance between RAGE MODE and default performance.
Watch Dogs Legion – 4K
In Watch Dogs at 4K and “Ultra” Ray Tracing enabled we also experience the same performance between RAGE MODE and default.
Control – 1440p
In Control, when we turn Ray Tracing on at 1440p we see the opposite result of what experienced without Ray Tracing. Now it seems RAGE MODE is actually underperforming default performance. It isn’t by much though, and could be within the margin of error.
Control – 4K
The same is true at 4K, RAGE MODE is just slightly lower, but not by much.
Metro Exodus – 1440p
There is a slight 2% performance advantage with RAGE MODE in Metro Exodus with Ray Tracing enabled.
Metro Exodus – 4K
At 4K though they are so close that it could be within the margin of error.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider – 1440p
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1440p performance is the same with Ray Tracing.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider – 4K
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 4K with Ray Tracing there is only a 1FPS advantage toward RAGE MODE.
