Computer programmer CodeZ1LLa has released a free one-click optimization tool for Cyberpunk 2077 that can supposedly improve the game’s performance by as much as 30 FPS on lower-end PCs by tweaking hidden developer options and applying several fixes.

While we can’t guarantee the safety of this program (VirusTotal says it’s clean…), those of you who are desperate for a smoother experience in Night City can give it a shot by downloading the executable here and running it in the root directory of your Cyberpunk 2077 installation.

The Cyberpunk 2077 EZ Optimizer comprises four profiles, the differences of which we’ve copied below. CodeZ1LLa warns that the asynchronous compute should be ignored, however, as it tends to result in even lower FPS performance.

EZ Optimizer for Cyberpunk 2077 Profiles

  • Max Boost: Optimize all parameters for max FPS (recommended for older systems)
  • Balanced: Balanced parameters for decent quality and good FPS boost
  • Default: Resets all settings to default parameters
  • Disable Async Compute: Stock, only disables asynchronous compute (not recommended for RTX GPUs)

CodeZ1LLa tested the tool with a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and found that the Balanced mode yielded an FPS range between 54 to 71 FPS, which is certainly better than the game’s default settings (42 to 51 FPS). The Max Boost mode bumped things up even further to around 51 to 88 FPS, even in daytime scenes with busier vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
