THQ Nordic has revealed that Experiment 101’s long-gestating martial-arts RPG, BIOMUTANT, will finally be released on May 25th, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Announced all the way back in 2017, the game is peculiar in that it stars a range of cute to sadistic-looking anthropomorphic animals imbued with mutant powers, bionics, and huge weaponry.

BIOMUTANT is an open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG, with a unique martial arts styled combat system allowing you to mix melee, shooting and mutant ability action,” a game description reads. “A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided. Explore a world in turmoil and define its fate – will you be its saviour or lead it to an even darker destiny?”

Furries can opt for an expensive $399.99 collector’s edition that includes a variety of goodies in addition to the game, such as a 23 x 10 x 12 diorama, steelbook, and soundtrack. Here’s what the “Atomic Edition” includes:

  • High Detail Diorama – 60cm/23″ long, 25cm/10″ width, 30cm/12″ height

  • Steelbook
  • T-Shirt in L/XL
  • Oversized Mousepad 80cm/31″ x 35cm/14″
  • The artwork on Fabric A1 size

There’s also a standard, cheaper collector’s edition that costs $109.99. This version comes with a copy of BIOMUTANT, a game hero figurine, a piece of artwork on A1-sized fabric, a soundtrack, and a premium box.
