SilverStone is releasing a new batch of its SX1000 power supplies in February. Initially announced in November with a planned release of Q4 2020, the world’s first SFX 1000-watt PSU was pulled from retailers due to a fan controller issue.

“As a precaution, our limited first quantity in Europe was pulled to ensure the fan controller issue reported by a number of users in North America was not present. The second batch, which are checked will be arriving in Europe by the end of February.”

The SX1000 is aimed at builds with power-hungry CPUs and GPUs. This fully modular PSU has a variety of protection features, such as overcurrent protection (OCP), overpower protection (OPP), and short circuit protection (SCP). It comes in matte black and includes an assortment of cables.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
