The Epic Games Store is offering not one but two free games as part of its ongoing promotions this week: IronOak Games’ For The King and 4A Games’ Metro Last Light Redux. The former is described as an RPG that blends strategy, JRPG combat, and roguelike elements, while the latter is an updated version of the original post-apocalyptic FPS with improved graphics, lighting, and other enhancements. Metro was actually up for grabs at GOG in the final week of December, but those of you who missed out on that deal can take up Epic’s offer instead.

For The King is a challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements,” a description for IronOak Games’ strategic RPG title reads. “Each playthrough is unique with procedural maps, quests, and events. Explore Fahrul in either single player, local, or online co-op.”

Metro: Last Light Redux is the definitive version of the critically acclaimed Metro: Last Light, rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine for Next Gen,” 4A Games explained in its product overview. “Newcomers will get the chance to experience one of the finest story-driven shooters of all time; an epic adventure combining gripping survival horror, exploration and tactical combat and stealth.”

IronOak Games’ For The King and 4A Games’ Metro Last Light Redux will be available for free until February 11. The Epic Games Store’s next offering is Massive Damage’s Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander, a “retro space strategy RPG with base building, deep tactical combat, crew management and emergent storytelling.”
