AMD has officially announced its latest lineup of server processors, the EPYC 7003 Series. The new Zen 3-based CPUs were unveiled by AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su and other company executives during a launch event held today, which confirmed that the family comprises 19 SKUs led by what red team is calling the world’s highest-performing server processor: the AMD EPYC 7763. This is a 64C/128T CPU that features a maximum boost frequency of up to 3.5 GHz, 256 MB of L3 Cache, and support for 8 channels of DDR-3200 RAM and 128 lanes of PCIe 4. Its default TDP is 280 watts.

“With the launch of our 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processors, we are incredibly excited to deliver the fastest server CPU in the world,” said Forrest Norrod, senior vice president and general manager, Data Center and Embedded Solutions Business Group. “These processors extend our data center leadership and help customers solve today’s most complex IT challenges, while substantially growing our ecosystem.”

“We not only double the performance over the competition in HPC, cloud and enterprise workloads with our newest server CPUs, but together with the AMD Instinct GPUs, we are breaking the exascale barrier in supercomputing and helping to tackle problems that have previously been beyond humanity’s reach.”

AMD’s new lineup of EPYC 7003 Series Processors is available starting today. Some of the unique security features that they’re equipped with include AMD Infinity Guard, which comprises two unique technologies—Secure Encrypted Virtualization and Secure Nested Paging—to keep data safe with little impact to system performance. The former is a new addition that provides protection against hypervisor-based attacks by creating an isolated execution environment.
