Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for the sequel to its 1996 animated sports comedy classic, Space Jam. The new film stars modern NBA celebrity LeBron James, who’s swept away to a virtual world by a rogue AI and has to win a basketball game alongside Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and other iconic Looney Tunes characters to save his son and get back home. Rumors suggest that legendary superstar Michael Jordan, who headlined the original film, will return in a short cameo. Space Jam: A New Legacy hits theaters and HBO Max on July 16.

When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself.
