CD PROJEKT RED suffered a major cyber attack back in February that resulted in the theft of valuable data such as the source code for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. According to a report from DataBreaches.net, the source code for the latter has now been shared online as part of a password-protected archive that can be accessed with a $10K donation. Cyberpunk 2077’s source code was previously auctioned on the dark web for as much as $7 million via a buy-it-now offer.

The ransomware attack on CD Projekt Red was allegedly carried out by a group called HelloKitty, which is said to have posted the source code of CD Projekt Red’s Gwent card game online prior to the auction earlier this year. The culprits claimed they had stolen source code for the aforementioned games as well as documents relating to the company’s accounting, legal, HR and more.
