Jon Peddie Research has published a new research report showing that the GPU market managed to reach 119 million units in Q1’21—a notable increase of 38.74 percent year-over-year. NVIDIA’s market share increased by 0.62 percent in the last quarter, while AMD and Intel’s market share decreased by .12 percent and .5 percent, respectively. Owing to its iGPUs, Intel continued its reign in the overall PC GPU market with 68.18 percent vendor market share for Q1’21.
Q1’20 | Q4’20 | Q1’21 | |
---|---|---|---|
AMD | 25% | 18% | 19% |
Intel | 0% | 0% | 0% |
Nvidia | 75% | 82% | 81% |
The first quarter is typically flat to down compared to the previous quarter. This quarter was down. 0.3 percent from last quarter which is below the 10-year average of 7 percent GPUs are traditionally a leading indicator of the market since a GPU goes into every system before the suppliers ship the PC.
