Rockstar Games has revealed that it will be shutting down the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of its highly popular online multiplayer adventure-adventure game, Grand Theft Auto Online, on December 16, 2021. The developer didn’t elaborate on why it is pulling the plug on GTA Online for PS3 and Xbox 360, but it did hint that its time would be better spent on updating and supporting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, which are scheduled for release on November 11, 2021. Website stat tracking for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online via the Rockstar Games Social Club will also be shut down on December 16, 2021, while Shark Cash Cards for GTA Online will no longer be sold for these versions after September 15, 2021. Additionally, Rockstar Games will shut down website stat tracking and other features for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire on September 16, 2021.

  • Website stat tracking, online multiplayer, and leaderboards for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Max Payne 3
  • Website stat tracking for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of L.A. Noire

All these changes will have no impact on access or progress in Story Mode for any of these titles on either platform. We’d like to thank the GTA Online community for their continued support, and look forward to seeing players continue their journey in Los Santos with us on new platforms.
