4K Gaming Performance
Now we will look at 4K performance. We will include Ray Tracing and DLSS in the games that support it on this page with the results.
Metro Exodus Enhanced
At 4K Metro Exodus Enhanced is very demanding at “Extreme” Shading Quality and “Ultra” Ray Tracing. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition improves performance by 8%, and it is 8% faster than the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC. However, even overclocked the game is not playable until we turn on DLSS. With DLSS enabled the game is now close to 60FPS average, and very playable. It’s 7% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 with DLSS.
Cyberpunk 2077
At 4K in Cyberpunk 2077 we are running at the “Ultra” default setting. This game is also demanding at 4K, even without Ray Tracing. Overclocking the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE has improved performance by 8%. However, this still does not make it playable. When we turn on DLSS though, the game is very playable at 74FPS. This beats all other cards, even the GeForce RTX 3090.
When we turn on Ray Tracing at 4K using only the “Medium” setting performance goes to very unplayable levels. However, with DLSS enabled it’s somewhat playable. Overclocking has improved performance by 8% and it’s 8% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090.
Dirt 5
In Dirt 5 at 4K performance is great across all video cards. However, the overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE is beating them all. Overclocking has improved performance by 9%. This puts it over GeForce RTX 3090 performance.
Even with Ray Tracing turned on at 4K the overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE is very playable at 85FPS average. This is 8% faster than the default performance. This also puts it over the GeForce RTX 3090.
Watch Dogs Legion
In Watch Dogs Legion at 4K we are running at “Ultra” settings. The overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE is the only video card to exceed 60FPS average at 4K. Overclocking has improved performance by 7%. This also makes it 8% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090.
Turning on “Ultra” Ray Tracing at 4K definitely hurts performance, and overclocking cannot make up for that. However, turning on DLSS does make a big difference, and overclocking with DLSS makes the game actually playable at 4K with “Ultra” Ray Tracing. Overclocking has improved performance by 6%. This also makes it 6% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn at 4K and the highest settings the overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE does great giving us almost 100FPS average. Overclocking has improved performance by 8%. This makes it once again, faster than the factory overclocked GeForce RTX 3090.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 4K is where we see the advantages of the overclock on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE video card. Overclocking has improved performance by 7% and is giving us a higher framerate which is felt in this game. This game has large benefits in how smooth it runs with advantages like 7%. It outperforms the GeForce RTX 3090.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is very demanding at 4K, especially at the highest settings. Yet the overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE dominates and provides a near 70FPS average. It’s extremely smooth and enjoyable. Overclocking has improved performance by 7% and is faster than the GeForce RTX 3090.
Wolfenstein Youngblood
We even get very high framerates at 4K in Wolfenstein Youngblood on the overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE. It’s giving us at the upper 100’s of FPS, the overclock has improved performance 10%, the highest advantage so far. This is just an amazing performance.
