Lian Li SP750 750W SFX Power Supply Review

Lian Li is launching its first Performance SFX Form Factor Power Supply today! With an MSRP of $139.99, the SP750 is a fully modular 750 Watt SFX power supply with 80 PLUS GOLD efficiency, a classy brushed aluminum housing, and braided cables.

Lian Li requires virtually no introduction as their cases are legendary and exceedingly popular in the enthusiast realm. Lian Li was founded in 1983 and has spent most of that time developing the outstanding Aluminum cases they are now known for. However, recently they have also begun branding power supplies and with their stellar reputation in the case development arena their power supply offerings are sure to catch the eye of customers. The Lian Li SP750 is produced in conjunction with Helly Electronics.

Helly Technology (Guangzhou) Co. Ltd is a manufacturer of various power supply types and components mostly focused on LED power supplies and perihperals. Having been founded in 2008 they are also one of the newer OEM’s providing products in to the enthusiast sector.

To date, we have only rarely seen their products in very low end products taht are not what we would normally look at for higher end systems with serious power demands. In fact, very few of their products have made it into the North American market and those that have, typically, do no warrant much attention other than to avoid. Today though, it seems that Helly may be trying to provide a more robust set of power supply products for the North American market.

Lian Li SP750

Lian Li is now doing power supplies! The Lian Li SP750 is the seventh SFX unit we have seen here at TheFPSReview and the first unit from Lian Li! This particular unit is probably a bit more interesting than most of the recent SFX units we saw since this unit is coming at 750W. This is perfect for an O11D MINI PSU SFF build. The only other vendor to cram such power into such a small space has been SilverStone and SilverStone could be considered the incumbent heavyweight here as this kind of thing is in their wheelhouse.

Lian Li isn’t just stepping up the game when it comes to capacity they are also going right at a big dog. Will this underdog have the bite needed to mark out its own territory here? Well, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s first see what Lian Li has to say about this unit:

After a few years away from the PSU industry, Lian Li is back in force with the SP750. Due to the increasing popularity of SFF builds, and to fit many of its current and upcoming Mini ITX cases, LIAN LI introduces its first fully modular 750 watts 80 plus gold certificated SFX PSU

Let’s move on now and see what we can expect when a user purchases the Lian Li SP750 power supply in retail in terms of documentation, accessories, cable count, rail layout, output characteristics, and general build quality.

Official specifications and documentation provided by Lian Li are shown below.
