EA Motive, the studio behind Star Wars: Squadrons, is working on an unannounced IP that’s believed to be a Dead Space game. The director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eric Baptizat, has now joined the studio. He’s been involved in a number of Assassin’s Creed projects and was with Ubisoft for over 16 years. EA Motive’s careers page shows an extensive list of open positions. It has released a promo video titled “The Reason We Play” to attract applicants. We’ll likely be hearing more stories of new hires in the coming months as the studio expands.

During his years at Ubisoft, Baptizat worked on numerous titles and played a key role in the Assassin’s Creed soft reboot, which saw the series transform from action/adventure to an RPG, starting with Assassin’s Creed Origins.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
