Digital Extreme’s popular free-to-play multiplayer online shooter, Warframe, will finally be getting support for cross-play and cross-save support nearly a decade after its initial release on the PC platform. The developer confirmed the additions during today’s TennoCon 2021 broadcast on Twitch, noting that cross-play and cross-save would be enabled later this year to allow Warframe players to join up with one another regardless of the platform and take their characters across every version of the game on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Digital Extremes also revealed that a mobile version of Warframe is in development.

“Community is incredibly important to us,” chief operating officer at Digital Extremes Sheldon Carter said. “Opening up cross-play and cross-save is just one of many more efforts we’ll take on to bring more players together including extending Warframe’s fast, fluid, action combat experience to other global gaming platforms.”
