Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for its new Witcher anime, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Instead of focusing on the iconic character of Geralt of Rivia, the movie will instead serve as an origin story for his mentor, Vesemir. Fans are already wondering if the story will elaborate on a love interest introduced during a side mission in the third game. It will feature actors Theo James and Lara Pulver (both of whom starred in Underworld: Blood Wars), along with Graham McTavish (The Hobbit, Castlevania, Outlander) and Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Rebel). The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf begins streaming on Netflix on August 23.

The world of The Witcher expands in this anime origin story: Before Geralt, there was his mentor Vesemir — a swashbuckling young witcher who escaped a life of poverty to slay monsters for coin. But when a strange new monster begins terrorizing a politically-fraught kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on a frightening adventure that forces him to confront the demons of his past.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
