Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have collaborated to bring content from Paramount Studios’ next Top Gun movie to Battlefield 6 next week. A new cinematic trailer has been released showcasing two new fighter jets, the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre, in action over the rebuilt Wake Island map, which now features “large-scale combined arms”. Maverick and Iceman may be missing, but players can take on the roles of characters from the new movie, including Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Adm. Solomon “Warlock” Bates (Charles Parnell).
The update will also add aircraft carriers that players can control, as well as a reimagined Carrier Strike for the Tsuru Reef. Players can also complete challenges to unlock the game’s longest-range sniper rifle, the Interdictor. The Top Gun update arrives on August 18 as part of the Season 4 update. Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep is the second mode being added to Battlefield 6 in the new update and is also a new time-limited mode.

“Prepare for take-off by watching the trailer and seeing the two new jets – the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre – in action as well as Wake Island and two new modes that celebrate Battlefield’s scale and Top Gun’s iconic cinematic action: Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep.”

Battlefield 6‘s next round of content will arrive on September 15 with the 3rd phase of the Deep Six Collection “Tidal Strike” event, and Ony in BF: Best of Year 1, alongside the new Proximity Chat feature. In addition, a new weapon will make its debut: the Diver’s knife melee weapon. So from high-flying action to aircraft carrier missions, and then missions to collect intel devices, Battlefield Studios has a wide array of content on the way for BF players to finish out Season 4.
