Microsoft has revealed that Humankind will be available for Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers to enjoy on day one. The game is scheduled for release on August 17, 2021.

Humankind is an upcoming 4X historical strategy title from Amplitude Studios and Sega that will allow players to re-write the entire narrative of human history by creating a civilization from the ground up and determining many of its key aspects, such as culture, history, and values.

The recommended system requirements for Humankind include an Intel i5 6th generation/AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (or better) processor, an NVIDIA GTX 1060/AMD RX 5500-XT (or better) graphics card, and 8 GB of RAM. Humankind players will also require 25 GB of available space.

Humankind was originally supposed to be released in 2020, but Amplitude Studios and Sega settled on an August 17, 2021 release date after several delays.

Amplitude Studios and Sega had also intended to release Humankind with Denuvo DRM but ended up removing it after what was presumably detrimental effects on performance during the game’s closed beta. Fans of the game had also urged the developer to remove the controversial DRM.

To create your unique civilization, combine 60 historical cultures from the Ancient, to the Modern Era. Each of those cultures will bring a unique layer creating near-endless outcomes. You’ll further customize your civilization with every deed you accomplish and moral choice you make. Everything you do builds your fame, and the player with the most fame will win the game.
