Activision has shared the first official teaser for its next Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Few are surprised, as the highly anticipated shooter has been the subject of major leaks that include marketing materials that surfaced just last week revealing its official name and logo, as well as the existence of an Ultimate Edition that includes access for an open beta.

While the teaser doesn’t seem to reveal anything about its story, Call of Duty: Vanguard will almost assuredly take place during World War 2 based on the visuals depicting an older generation of warfare. The story will also seemingly revolve around a squad of characters based on the game’s key art and teaser voice clip, “Whatever we do, we do it, together.”

Activision’s worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard will take place on August 19 as part of a live in-game event in its popular Call of Duty battle royale title, Call of Duty: Warzone. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. PT and include limited-time perks for Warzone players such as Double XP and Double Weapon XP.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is being developed by Sledgehammer Games. This is the studio that was responsible for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014) and Call of Duty: WWII (2017). Apparently, the studio liked working on grounded, historical warfare better than the futuristic sort.

Be the first to the fight and be rewarded – report to Warzone and play in any playlist between 9:30 AM and 10:29 AM PT and prepare to participate in a limited-time Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass XP event before the battle begins.
