Ubisoft released Far Cry 3 on November 29, 2012. Most people have played it already, but those who haven’t traversed the game’s fictional Rook Islands yet can grab a free copy of the game beginning today by logging into the Ubisoft Connect PC launcher and claiming the open-world shooter. (The offer can be found under the “Latest News” section.)

Far Cry fans can also claim a copy of the game by visiting Ubisoft’s portal for the free Far Cry 3 offer here and entering their account information.

Far Cry 3 is an open world first-person shooter set on an island unlike any other. A place where heavily armed warlords traffic in slaves. Where outsiders are hunted for ransom. And as you embark on a desperate quest to rescue your friends, you realize that the only way to escape this darkness … is to embrace it.

Ubisoft Connect users have until September 11 (Saturday) to claim a free copy of Far Cry 3. The offer does not appear to include any of Far Cry 3’s downloadable content, such as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. This is a standalone expansion that takes place on a different, retro-futuristic island.
