1440p Gaming Performance
To start the bidding today, we will look at the 1440p performance of the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card in an assortment of games. All of the games are running at the highest quality selections available sans Ray Tracing and DLSS which we will look at separately. For each game, we are using the game benchmark included with the game and reporting the average frames per second.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077, we are using the Ultra quality presets without modifications. We are performing a manual run-through of a set driving route through the city and averaging our results over multiple runs. The ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card turned in a performance of 58 FPS which bested the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X, by 4.8 FPS. Overclocking the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card boosted performance to 60.4 FPS (or 4.1%).
Watch Dogs: Legion
In Watch Dogs: Legion we do have the HD Textures installed. We are running in “Ultra” quality with the Extreme Detail slider maxed out, as well as the Headlights quality option maxed out. In this way, we are running “maximum” game settings. The ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card plodded ahead of the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X by 5.3 FPS or about 8.4%. Overclocking the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card turned in an additional 4% at 71 FPS.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card averaged 104 FPS just a few frames ahead of the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X. Overclocking the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card increased performance by 5.8% stretching its victory over the 6700 XT. With all cards turning in scores at or near 100 FPS, they’re all great choices for Horizon Zero Dawn.
Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card rang up 63 FPS compared to the 59.4 FPS of the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X. Overclocking the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card resulted in 66.9 FPS, a 6.2% gain.
Metro Exodus

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, because all of the cards performed so well, we went ahead and turned on Ray Tracing for testing at 1440p. The ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card jumped to the front of the line with 71.3 FPS. The MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING X turned in 55 FPS. Overclocking the ASUS RTX 3070 TUF GAMING OC Video card increased its lead by 6.6%.
