Nintendo hosted its third Nintendo Direct of the year today, and the company didn’t seem to disappoint.
The event included a handful of exciting trailers for upcoming Nintendo Switch titles such as Bayonetta 3, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and a brand-new Kirby game called Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as the confirmation that N64 and Genesis games would be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service in October as part of an expanded membership plan. Nintendo Switch Online members will be able to complete this nostalgia trip with full-sized wireless N64 and Sega Genesis controllers.
Legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto even made an appearance during today’s Nintendo Direct, revealing the roster of Hollywood stars that would be providing the voices for Mario, Luigi, Peach, and other iconic Nintendo characters in Illumination’s upcoming Super Mario movie. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Day will be starring as Mario, Princess Peach, and Luigi, respectively.

Nintendo Switch Online members will also have the opportunity to purchase full-size wireless Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers to play these classic games the way they were meant to be played.
Unfortunately, Nintendo has declined to share the pricing and exact launch date of its expanded Nintendo Switch online service. Those details will be revealed at a later date.
