PlayStation announced today that it has added one more member to its rapidly growing family of first-party studios. The latest to join PlayStation Studios is Bluepoint Games, a developer that’s best known for its remakes and remasters of critically acclaimed classics such as Shadow of the Colossus and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted titles. Bluepoint is also the developer that was responsible for PS5 launch title Demon’s Souls, a remake of FromSoftware’s 2009 original with completely overhauled graphics.

Austin, Texas has been home base for Bluepoint from when we first founded the studio back in 2006 and we’re now a team of close to 70 super-talented creatives and growing. While the studio has certainly grown over the past 15 years, our cultural beliefs have remained the same- to always push the envelope and create the highest-quality games possible all while having fun doing it. The focus on culture has been instrumental to our success and we’re excited that PlayStation Studios shares a similar culture and vision.
PlayStation has such an iconic gaming catalog and for us there’s been nothing better than to bring some of gaming’s masterpieces to new players. While Thrush has remained tight lipped on what Bluepoint Games might be working on, there have been recurring rumors suggesting that the studio might be developing a remake of Hideo Kojima’s classic tactical espionage action title, Metal Gear Solid. Some rumors even claim that Bluepoint is working on remakes for not one, but multiple Metal Gear games.
