This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Xbox console. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Microsoft has entered into a global partnership with adidas to release a sneaker inspired by the special edition Xbox console that launched alongside Bungie’s iconic FPS, Halo: Combat Evolved, in 2001. Mimicking the console’s translucent green shell, Microsoft and adidas’ new “Xbox 20th Forum Tech” sneaker features a neon-green paneling and sole, as well as a classic Xbox logo on the front of the tongue.

From Xbox:

The collab features an exclusive new adidas Originals by Xbox sneaker — the Xbox 20th Forum Tech — with translucent green details inspired by the special edition release of the original Xbox console for the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001, marking the first-ever generation of gaming at Microsoft. The adidas Forum Tech design balances nostalgia while embracing modern technology and is symbolic of how we look at our own Xbox history — celebrating the last 20 years and looking ahead to the limitless future of gaming.

Microsoft and adidas’ Xbox sneakers will seemingly be available only as part of contest, the details of which will be shared later via Xbox’s official Twitter account. The companies are, however, working on additional Xbox sneakers that will be available for purchase by fans later this year.
