Grand Theft Auto VI’s soundtrack might include completely new music from acclaimed rapper and record producer Dr. Dre. This is according to longtime friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg, who told Rolling Stone that the artist is working on new songs for “the GTA game that’s coming out.” It’s unclear whether Snoop Dog might be referring to GTA VI or the collection of GTA remasters that was recently announced, but the latter seems less likely, as it’s merely a compilation of very old titles.

From Rolling Stone:

“I do know he’s in the studio,” Snoop says in the episode, which will air October 29th on SiriusXM’s Volume channel (106) and will be available as a podcast on November 3rd. “I do know he’s making great fucking music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.” A representative for Rockstar Games, the company behind Grand Theft Auto, declined comment, and the company has not announced a new entry in the series; reps for Dr. Dre didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Dr. Dre has not released a studio album since 2015’s Compton. The ultimate fate of Detox, his “final album” that has reportedly been in the works for over a decade with star collaborators such as Eminem, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes, remains unknown.

Dr. Dre was featured in a cameo alongside long-time collaborators DJ Pooh and Jimmy Iovine in GTA Online’s Cayo Perico Heist.
