Ubisoft is planning more amusement parks following the success of Nintendo’s. The game studio has announced that it is working on multiple parks with Storyland Studios. It tried opening one in Kuala Lampur in 2020, and those plans fell through, but it was able to get one up and running in Montreal in 2016, the Rabbids Amusement Center.

The companies will partner with Studios Occitanie, which is planning a French-themed park inspired by Universal Studios. The park is expected to open in 2025 with a focus on cinema, video games, and music. Paramount is also involved in the project. Bruno Granja, founder of Studios Occitanie, has expressed excitement over the new partnership.

Gaming has grown to become the biggest form of entertainment. It makes sense that we partner with France’s leading game publisher to create a new kind of immersive experience that celebrates gaming culture.

The partnership with Storyland Studios will create a “multi-brand theme entertainment experience” focusing on intellectual properties, similar to the Rabbids project. A larger-scale park that could feature other franchises is also being planned.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
