1080p Performance
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
For Ghost Recon: Breakpoint at 1080p, the Ryzen 9 5950X achieved 188 FPS leaving the Ryzen 9 3950X defeated at 172 FPS. Turning on PBO did not cause any differences in performance.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn, the Ryzen 9 5950X not only rhymed with the game name but also achieved 166 FPS at 1080p in both stock and regular modes. This was 13 FPS faster than the Ryzen 9 3950’s effort at 153 FPS.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
At 1080p in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the Ryzen 9 5950X saw 197 FPS to the Ryzen 9 3950X’s 156 FPS. Turning on PBO reduced performance by 1 FPS, but it’s also quite possible to be attributed to a rounding difference.
Watch Dogs Legion
In Watch Dogs Legion at 1080p, the Ryzen 9 5950X provided for 109 FPS, which was 6 FPS faster than the Ryzen 9 3950X at 103 FPS. Turning on PBO lifted the performance by 1 FPS.
4k Performance
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
In Ghost Recon: Breakpoint at 4k, we saw the Ryzen 9 5950X reach 106 FPS, which tied it with the Ryzen 9 3950X. Turning on PBO found 1 additional FPS that’s likely attributable to rounding.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn at 4k, all three test scenarios achieved 88 FPS.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 4k, all three test scenarios achieved 91 FPS.
Watch Dogs Legion
In Watch Dogs Legion at 4k, all three test scenarios achieved 59 FPS.
