Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no stranger to video game adaptations, having starred in films such as Doom and Rampage, but while those productions didn’t garner the greatest reviews from fans nor critics, the actor is apparently keen on giving the genre another shot.

In a new interview with Men’s Journal regarding his role as Black Adam for DC Films’ upcoming feature of the same name, Johnson confirmed that one of his next movies would be based on a video game. While the actor declined to reveal what the name of the movie is or what game it’s based on, he did tease that it’s related to a “badass” franchise, something that he’s been a fan of for years.

“I’ve always been a big Madden fan,” Johnson replied after being asked as to whether he had any plans to bring more video game characters to the big screen.

“I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen—one that I’ve played for years. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course we’re going to do right by our gamer friends—but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”

One of the more exciting theories is that Johnson will be starring in a live-action adaption of Microsoft’s hit third-person shooter series, Gears of War. The franchise centers around a group of freakishly buff soldiers who take on mutated, subterranean humans called the Locust Horde, which sounds like something that might be right up the action star’s alley.

Black Adam is slated for release this year.
