This month, there’s a more modest list that includes Stellaris, Ashwalkers: A Survival Journey, Golazo! Soccer League, As Far as the Eye, and Double Kick Heroes. Stellaris is available from GOG.com, while all others can be claimed from within the Prime Gaming portal. This month’s offerings all expire on March 1.

Stellaris

Explore a vast galaxy full of wonder! Paradox Development Studio, makers of the Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis series presents Stellaris, an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core.

Featuring deep strategic gameplay, a rich and enormously diverse selection of alien races and emergent storytelling, Stellaris has engaging challenging gameplay that rewards interstellar exploration as you traverse, discover, interact and learn more about the multitude of species you will encounter during your travels.

Etch your name across the cosmos by forging a galactic empire; colonizing remote planets and integrating alien civilizations. Will you expand through war alone or walk the path of diplomacy to achieve your goals?

Ashwalkers: A Survival Journey

A survival journey through a harsh world without rules or judgement. Only your choices matter in the face of moral dilemmas. Manage your party, food and equipment to find your way through a non-linear narrative survival sim with more than 30 possible endings.

Double Kick Heroes

Double Kick Heroes is a rhythm shooter with a full story mode. It comes packed with 50 different head-banging songs. The artists include Ultra Vomit, Volkorx, Gorod, Jinjer, Carpenter Brut, and Gojira.

Here’s a description of the game from developer Headbang Club:

You’re the hope of the last bastion of humanity. Jump into your Gundillac, Sheila and grab hold of the wheel – it’s time to take on everything a post-apocalyptic, metal-inspired rhythm shooter can throw at you, whilst moshing to the sickest heavy metal soundtrack in a game to date.

Double Kick Heroes has five different difficulty settings to test your mettle as you rock out to metal. It also features USB drum and guitar support on PC and Xbox One. So there are plenty of different ways to experience the game.

As Far as the Eye

Wake up, swell up and get up, Sigh. It is time to bring back to me the Pupils scattered throughout the world and to guide them. Do not worry, they will recognize you as soon as they feel your breath on their faces, as soon as they see their woolen clothes spinning, they will understand because they are waiting for you. Caress their feet, carry their bodies, lift their spirit and instill hope and perseverance in them.
Do not skimp on the gusts that will make them realize that the road is long and that it must continue, always, As Far As I.

You play as the wind guiding the Pupils, a tribe that must reach the center of the world. You’ll have to manage their resources, their buildings, and their lives. Help them grow wiser through agriculture, crafting, scientific and mystical research before the world is submerged. Be careful though, you have to manage your tribe perfectly and make sure they’re not starving or taken by surprise by the waters.

The game is a nomadic turn-based city builder. Begin a procedurally generated journey and survive halt after halt, as far as the Eye.

Golazo! Soccer League

Golazo is set in inspiringly bonkers atmosphere and retro art style of the ’90s. It is super fast, dynamic experience with medium sized fields, no fouls and offsides whistled. Just pure fun! Mastering the game is incredibly easy during fun and furious 7vs7 matches.

If you remember the legendary Dutch, Argentinean, and German teams from the not so distant past and such names as Gullit, Romário, and Valderama make you smile, this game is definitely for you and will give you a real thrill. If you don’t, no worries, just play and discover the beauty of old school football!
Game features:

• Fast and dynamic gameplay reminiscent of legendary ’90s football games

• Who needs rules? No fouls and offsides!

• Retro art style with VHS filter designed to give that classic ’90s feel

• Legendary players used as reference: original ’90s kits, haircuts and accessories

• Up to 4 players on local multiplayer

• Cool powerups

• International Cup mode and ranking

• 52 national teams

• 28 hand-drawn managers

• Humor – football managers and simulators are boring. Let’s bring back fun to football!

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
