4K Gaming Performance
Next up, we’ll place all the chips in the middle of the table and see how the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING performs at the 4K resolution. All of the games are running at the highest quality selections available sans Ray Tracing and DLSS which we will look at separately. For each game, we are using the game benchmark included with the game and reporting the average frames per second.
Far Cry 6
In Far Cry 6, the EVGA RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA achieved 76 FPS which only bested the EVGA RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA. Overclocking the EVGA RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA brought it up to 81 FPS, tying the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA for the lead.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING turned in 31.3 FPS across the manual run-through. This does not represent a good playing experience at all which is consistent with the EVGA RTX 3080 10GB and RTX 3080 Ti cards. The ASUS TUF 6800 XT was another notch down. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING bumped up the FPS to 33.6 which was enough to land it in the winner’s position for this game.
Watch Dogs: Legion
In Watch Dogs: Legion the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING achieved 60 FPS which was ahead of the ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT and EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING. While the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING lead at 62 FPS, it was bested by 3 FPS when we overclocked the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING.
Horizon Zero Dawn
In Horizon Zero Dawn, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING achieved 88 FPS which is a hair under the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING at 92 FPS yet above the rest of the pack by a decent margin. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING added a shaved hair to its performance with 94 FPS.
Red Dead Redemption 2
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING chalked up 61.7 FPS which was behind the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING at 64.8 FPS but ahead of the others. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING bumped it up to an evil 66.6 FPS at the front of the pack.
Metro Exodus
In Metro Exodus, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING delivered 57.5 FPS which was above the 51.8 FPS and 55.4 FPS that the ASUS TUF 6800 XT and EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING turned in, respectively. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING moved it to the top of the pile at 61.8 FPS.
Dirt 5
In Dirt 5, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING achevied 91.5 FPS, which outpaced both the ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT and the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING yielded 101.6 FPS, allowing it to declare victory over the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
In Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING performed at 88 FPS, which was 3 and 4 FPS better than the ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT and the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, respectively. EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING punched it up to 95 FPS, allowing it to pull ahead of the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING flipped through 88 frames per second which lead the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING and ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT. Both were out flipped by the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING which provided 94 flips. Overclocking the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING increased its performance to 94 FPS, tying it for most flips.
