Fans of classic wrestling have something to get excited over with the announcement of WrestleQuest. It will be published by Skybound Games and developed by Mega Cat Studios.
“WrestleQuest captures the spirit and passion of wrestling, through the lens of an unforgettable RPG experience,” said James Deighan, President and founder of Mega Cat Studios.
“Many of the team at Mega Cat grew up watching wrestling and it holds an undeniable nostalgic place for us. This game is a celebration of that world, complete with special fully licensed appearances by some of our favorite wrestlers from the 80s, 90s, and today.”
TAG TEAM WITH DESTINY! Pro wrestling and RPG fantasy collide in the ultimate pixel powered adventure. “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, and tons of other icons guide your way to glory beyond the ring. This hero’s journey ain’t just an epic quest, it’s WRESTLEQUEST!
It is a pixelated, retro-styled RPG adventure inspired by arcade wrestling games. Players can interact with famous wrestlers, such as Randy “The Macho Man” Savage, Jake the Snake Roberts, Andre the Giant, and more. They will traverse realms fighting monsters and other fighters. Along the way, players will develop their character’s abilities as they climb the ranks of the wrestling world. WrestleQuest is getting positive attention, with people bringing it up to the host of The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley. Others have been posting on the launch trailer page, expressing how the game is on their must-have list for the summer.
