Saints Row reboot screenshots have been shared online, showing off the game’s desert locales. Senior environment artist Tim Wasson had posted the screenshots to his ArtStation account but found their way around the internet before they could be removed.

The franchise previously leaned toward hand-drawn cartoon styles, but the screenshots suggest a more realistic look. The images showcase desert locations, something that was mentioned in the official announcement for the reboot.

Discover the Weird, Wild, West – Dive in to Santo Ileso, the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever, spread across nine unique districts surrounded by the vast, majestic beauty of the Southwest Desert.

There’s no indication if the game will feature ray tracing, it could be a possibility based on these images. Saints Row is planned for release on August 23 for PC (Epic Games Store) and console.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
