PlayStation Plus Gets New Targeted Release Dates, U.S. Launch Slated for June 13, 2022

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has updated his original PlayStation Plus announcement with a regional rollout schedule that reveals when prospective subscribers should be able to check out the new service. They include targeted release dates for the American and European regions, whose gamers can expect to see the new PlayStation Plus service go live on June 13 and June 22 this year, respectively.

The updated regional rollout schedule for PS Plus:

  • Asia markets (excluding Japan) – targeting May 23, 2022
  • Japan – targeting June 1, 2022
  • Americas – targeting June 13, 2022
  • Europe – targeting June 22, 2022

Additionally, we’re also expanding our cloud streaming access to the following locations for a total of 30 markets with cloud streaming access**. The following markets will also offer the Premium tier from PlayStation Plus at launch: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

PlayStation officially announced its revamped version of PS Plus in March, detailing a new service that would comprise three tiers (Essential, Extra, Premium) with different benefits. The Premium tier of PS Plus grants over 700 games, including PS3 titles (cloud streaming) and classics from the PS1, PS2, and PSP generations (streaming and download), for $17.99 monthly / $49.99 quarterly / $119.99 yearly.
