The Tribeca Festival has expanded beyond films into games. It will be streaming nine playable PC demos this year for its games program, whose advisory board includes writer/director Jon Favreau, Hideo Kojima, Geoff Keighley, Sam Lake, Kiki Wolfkill, and other notable names.
Gamers need to book a free ticket with Tribeca and register with streaming company Parsec to play them from June 11-19. Demo runtimes vary from 20–60 minutes, and all but one require an Xbox controller.
VENBA
Venba is a narrative cooking game centered around an Indian mom who immigrates to Canada with her family in the 1980s. Players will cook various dishes, restore lost recipes, engage in branching conversations, and explore a story about family, love, loss and more.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
This direct sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence follows Amicia and her brother Hugo on a heartrending journey into a breathtaking, brutal medieval world twisted by supernatural forces as they discover the cost of saving loved ones in a desperate struggle for survival.
