Lucasfilm Games has announced that Aspyr’s modern port of Obsidian Entertainment’s classic Star Wars RPG, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, will be available for Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy beginning on June 8. Players can expect a polished version of the 2004 classic with improvements that include resolution updates and performance optimizations, as well as The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC, which will be available at a later date. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords’s Nintendo Switch port joins the re-releases of the original KOTOR, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, and, most recently, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, rounding out an acclaimed collection of classic Star Wars titles for the hybrid system.

“We’re really grateful that we get to work on such amazing and beloved titles for fans of the original game and new ones exploring these experiences for the first time,” says Michael Blair, senior director of Business Development at Aspyr. “With the resolution updates, performance optimizations, and The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC coming post-launch, we hope gamers will see this becoming one of the ideal platforms to dive into the galaxy showcased in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.”

In this standalone sequel to the award-winning RPG STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic, the Sith Lords have hunted the Jedi to the edge of extinction and are on the verge of crushing the Old Republic.

With the Jedi Order in ruin, the Republic’s only hope is a lone Jedi in exile struggling to reconnect with the Force. Lead a diverse crew of unique allies, make difficult choices with far-reaching consequences, and decide your destiny. Will you follow the light side and save the Galaxy, or succumb to the dark side and bring it all down…
