Gameplay Performance

We are going to focus on 1440p gameplay performance with the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT GAMING OC 12GB video card.  We will include DLSS and FSR performance on the same graph in the games that are supported.  We will use DLSS on NVIDIA GPUs and FSR on AMD GPUs.  Ray Tracing performance will be shown on a separate page.  For video card comparisons we are using an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT video card and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti FE video card.

Our focus today, in this initial review, is to first find out the playable gameplay experience of the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT and what level of game quality settings and performance it gives us. We also want to find out what the difference is compared to the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, and how much performance we can squeeze out of the video card overclocked. We want to see how much more performance it offers with the faster clock and memory.  The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is included as a reference point.  We will perform further, specific comparisons, to other GPUs in a follow-up “vs” style comparison.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine.  The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS and FSR.  We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing.  We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute.  For our benchmark, we are using a custom manual run-through at the end of the game hopping between rooftops, as well as free-roaming on the ground city level, as well as a forested area, in the daylight.

In Dying Light 2 we are running the game at 1440p with the highest in-game quality settings, minus Ray Tracing. The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT is able to play this game very well at the highest settings at 1440p providing over 70FPS of smooth gameplay. That is about 6% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT. It’s 19% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Overclocking the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ improves performance by 6%, making the total improvement over the RX 6700 XT 13%. When you include FSR, that also greatly helps performance and brings it to 100FPS on the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ and over 100FPS with it overclocked.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction was released on PC in January of 2022.  This game uses the Ubisoft Anvil gaming engine and supports DLSS and multiple TAA options as well as a high-definition Texture Pack.  We are running the game at the highest graphics settings, at a fixed 100% resolution.  We will test with TAA, TAA 2X, and DLSS where supported.  We are using the built-in benchmark.

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING OC Video Card Rainbow Six Extraction Graph

In Rainbow Six Extraction we are able to play this game at the absolute highest in-game settings at 1440p on the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT video card. It produces over 130FPS performance, making it 6% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT. It’s also 9% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Overclocking the video card improves performance by 3%, making the total improvement over RX 6700 XT 10%. The RTX 3060 Ti with DLSS does have a performance advantage that brings it up to Overclocked RX 6750 XT performance.

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 was released on PC in November of 2021 and it uses the ForzaTech game engine. For our evaluation, we raise the in-game graphic settings beyond the “Extreme” preset to the maximum game settings. In addition to the “Extreme” preset we raise SSAO Quality to Ultra, Reflection Quality to Extreme, SSR Quality to Ultra.  We also disable MSAA and use the new TAA option in the latest patch. We test AMD FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS) performance from the Resolution Scaling option. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing.

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING OC Video Card Forza Horizon 5 Graph

In Forza Horizon 5 the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT is able to play this game at 1440p with the highest possible in-game settings. It does so at a very fast 91FPS, which is 15% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT, the highest difference we’ve seen yet. That’s a pretty significant difference in performance. Oddly, overclocking the video card did not result in any change in performance, we got the same performance with the video card overclocked in this game, it could be an anomaly. At any rate, the new SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT is the best card in this lineup for this game in terms of gameplay experience.

Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 was released in October of 2021 and uses the Dunia Engine. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We have the HD Texture pack installed and turned on. We utilize the “Ultra” graphics preset which sets all options to the highest game settings. This game supports FSR upscaling.

In Far Cry 6 the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT was able to play this game at the highest possible settings with HD Textures turned on. It provided over 100FPS, which was 4% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT and 11% faster than the RTX 3060 Ti. Overclocking the video card improved performance by 4% making the total advantage over the RX 6700 XT 8%.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December of 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 1.52 and perform a long manual run-through driving in the game’s open world. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings, mainly “Ultra”.  This game supports DLSS and FSR.

SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING OC Video Card Cyberpunk 2077 Graph

As usual, Cyberpunk 2077 is demanding, but the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT does surprisingly well at 1440p. At “Ultra” settings the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ was around 48FPS average, which was 8% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT, offering much better gameplay. When we overclocked it performance increased by 6% and the game was playable with the overclock. That’s something the RX 6700 XT couldn’t do, the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ overclocked is 14% faster than the Radeon RX 6700 XT. Furthermore, utilizing FSR makes the game very playable on the Radeon RX 6750 XT. FSR gives us performance over 75FPS and even over 80FPS with it overclocked. This beats the RTX 3060 Ti pretty well.

Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 Game of the Year Edition

MS Flight Sim 2020 was released in August of 2020 but has received a big update in November 2021 called the Game of the Year Edition update. This brought with it support for the DX12 API which we have enabled for testing. We are utilizing the game’s “Ultra” preset for graphics settings and live terrain is enabled. We perform a manual run-through of an activity landing in New York with an outside view camera.

In Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 all the video cards ended up being playable at 1440p. The faster card though was the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti here. Still, the overclocked SAPPHIRE NITRO+ was able to keep up, practically the same as the RTX 3060 Ti performance. Overclocked, the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ was 6% faster than the RX 6700 XT.

Watch Dogs Legion

Watch Dogs Legion was released on the PC in October of 2020 and uses the Disrupt game engine. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We have the HD Texture pack installed and enabled for testing. We use the built-in graphics preset of “Ultra” for testing. This game supports DLSS upscaling.
