New installments of Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS won’t be released anytime soon, or possibly ever, according to a new blog post shared by Sucker Punch Productions, one that can confirm the developer has “no plans” to revisit either of those franchises right now despite their extended absence due to the demands of its current project, which requires the “full attention” of the studio. The first-party PlayStation developer also clarified that “no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises, either,” putting a definitive damper on any recent rumors that might suggest a new Sly Cooper and/or inFAMOUS game might be in development for PS consoles. Fans of inFAMOUS should only expect updates for the franchise in the form of maintenance on inFAMOUS 2’s UGC servers and Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFAMOUS Second Son being released on the PlayStation Store in the coming future. Many are speculating that Sucker Punch is working on a sequel to its 2020 samurai action-adventure hit, Ghost of Tsushima.

These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.

We know many people still play these games even today, so we’ll be performing maintenance on inFAMOUS 2 UGC servers soon to move them to a new home that will keep them up and running a bit longer. We will eventually need to sunset these, but want to keep them running for as long as possible for players who are still active.

We’re also working to put Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFAMOUS Second Son (which was previously only available as part of the Collector’s Edition) on PlayStation Store in all territories for anyone who missed it.
