Gameplay Performance

We are going to focus on 1440p gameplay performance with the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT GAMING OC 12GB video card.  We will include DLSS and FSR performance on the same graph in the games that are supported.  We will use DLSS on NVIDIA GPUs and FSR on AMD GPUs.  Ray Tracing performance will be shown on a separate page.  For video card comparisons we are using an AMD Radeon RX 6800 video card and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 FE video card.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine.  The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS and FSR.  We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing.  We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute.  For our benchmark, we are using a custom manual run-through at the end of the game hopping between rooftops, as well as free-roaming on the ground city level, as well as a forested area, in the daylight.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Dying Light 2 Graph

In Dying Light 2 we are playing at 1440p with the highest possible settings, sans Ray Tracing. We find that the new SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 6750 XT video card is faster than the GeForce RTX 3070, but only by 5%, which is not a lot but does bring the game to over 70FPS average at 1440p. Both video cards are playable, but interestingly the FSR performance is 6% faster than the DLSS performance on RTX 3070. With FSR on the RX 6750 XT, you get to nearly 100FPS at 1440p with the highest in-game settings. NOw, the Radeon RX 6800 is a lot faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT. It’s 19% faster, so $100 more to buy the 6800 will net you about 19% more performance in this game taking you to 85FPS, or with FSR 115FPS.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction was released on PC in January of 2022.  This game uses the Ubisoft Anvil gaming engine and supports DLSS and multiple TAA options as well as a high-definition Texture Pack.  We are running the game at the highest graphics settings, at a fixed 100% resolution.  We will test with TAA, TAA 2X, and DLSS where supported.  We are using the built-in benchmark.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Rainbow Six Extraction Graph

In Rainbow Six Extraction we are playing at the highest possible settings at 1440p, and all three video cards are more than playable. The GeForce RTX 3070 is actually faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT in this game, by 3%, so both are very close. However, with DLSS on the RTX 3070 that shoots up to over 150FPS. What also gets you to over 150FPS is the Radeon RX 6800 flat out. It’s 17% faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT, so $100 buys you another 20FPS in this game.

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 was released on PC in November of 2021 and it uses the ForzaTech game engine. For our evaluation, we raise the in-game graphic settings beyond the “Extreme” preset to the maximum game settings. In addition to the “Extreme” preset we raise SSAO Quality to Ultra, Reflection Quality to Extreme, SSR Quality to Ultra.  We also disable MSAA and use FXAA. We test AMD FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS) performance from the Resolution Scaling option. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Forza Horizon 5 Graph

In Forza Horizon 5 we are playing at the highest possible settings, with the new TAA option introduced in the latest patch. The Radeon RX 6750 XT is faster than the GeForce RTX 3070, but a more significant difference in this game. It’s 14% faster, which is pretty significant, taking the game from 80FPS up to 91FPS average on the new Radeon RX 6750 XT. That is a better experience than the GeForce RTX 3070, and with CAS we can reach 101FPS average. The Radeon RX 6800 offers even more performance, it’s 8% faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT, so this time it isn’t as wide as the games above.

Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 was released in October of 2021 and uses the Dunia Engine. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We have the HD Texture pack installed and turned on. We utilize the “Ultra” graphics preset which sets all options to the highest game settings. This game supports FSR upscaling.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Far Cry 6 Graph

In Far Cry 6, we are running at 1440p with the highest in-game settings and HD Textures, and all three video cards are more than playable. The Radeon RX 6750 XT is on par with the GeForce RTX 3070 in performance, both provide the same gameplay experience. With FSR enabled on both they also equally improve performance. The Radeon RX 6800 is 11% faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT, so it isn’t that much, and with FSR it’s also very close to the performance of RX 6750 XT.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December of 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 1.52 and perform a long manual run-through driving in the game’s open world. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings, mainly “Ultra”.  This game supports DLSS and FSR.

Radeon RX 6750 XT vs RTX 3070 and RX 6800 Performance Comparison Cyberpunk 2077 Graph

In Cyberpunk 2077, we are running at 1440p with “Ultra” settings. The Radeon RX 6750 XT and GeForce RTX 3070 both struggle here, and are not playable without DLSS or FSR. The GeForce RTX 3070 is 6% faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT in this game. However, once we enable DLSS or FSR both raise up to over 70FPS and gameplay is very smooth on both. In fact, FSR performance is a bit faster. The AMD Radeon RX 6800 is in a whole different league, it actually allows the game to be playable without FSR. The Radeon RX 6800 is 24% faster than the Radeon RX 6750 XT, which is very significant. In this game, the faster RX 6800 is a major advantage for a better gameplay experience.

Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 Game of the Year Edition

MS Flight Sim 2020 was released in August of 2020 but has received a big update in November 2021 called the Game of the Year Edition update. This brought with it support for the DX12 API which we have enabled for testing. We are utilizing the game’s “Ultra” preset for graphics settings and live terrain is enabled.
